What I liked
I loved the opportunity to work in such a beautiful and tranquil setting. The workplace environment was stunning and I was able to share those feelings with guests of the garden. I also appreciated the level of interaction I had with the garden guests because it helped to foster my interpersonal and communication skills.
What I wish was different
I wish that I was able to talk with guests more about the history of the garden as well as its cultural significance, but that role was designated specifically to our volunteer tour guides.
Advice
Working in customer service, while sometimes frustrating, offers a key chance to improve communication abilities. People skills can go a long way in any job regardless of where or how you obtained them.
