Power Digital Marketing

Influencer Marketing and PR Intern

October 2020 • San Diego, CA

What I liked

Learning about PR strategies, relationships with clients, and meeting a network of new people. Although we worked remotely, Power Digital has an extremely strong internship program that facilitated learning, growth, and collaboration.

What I wish was different

With COVID, we didn’t get the in-office experience that most interns do during their time at Power Digital, so I wish that wouldn’t have been the case, but that is hard to control and I am grateful for the experience nonetheless.

Advice

Do as much as you can, ask questions at any time, and fully embrace all the things you are learning.

SEO Intern

May - August 2020 • San Diego, CA

What I liked

Super friendly team, helpful manager who genuinely cared about my success, interesting clients to work with and overall great real world experience in the digital marketing world.

What I wish was different

Creating those workplace relationships is difficult when working remote, although PDM tries to keep you involved and part of the community as much as possible. Also, I wish there had been better compensation besides just passport points or college credit.

Advice

Ask questions and try to learn from as many people as possible, even those outside of your immediate team- you'll get a much better understanding of how digital marketing works as a whole, and it will make you stand out amongst the other interns and gives you a better shot at coming on part-time or full-time in the future.

Content Marketing Intern

June - August 2018 • San Diego, CA

What I liked

I did actual work for real clients rather than just menial clerical tasks.

What I wish was different

I wish there had been more workshops and networking opportunities specifically for the internship program.

Advice

Make an effort to use this as the opportunity to get to know everyone in the agency; try to meet one new person every day.
