What I liked

I loved the working environment of Chicago! Taking the train downtown every morning and walking along the river to my building with everyone made me feel like a part of the business community. My boss and fellow employees were very welcoming and made sure that I was having just as much of a learning experience as a work experience which I appreciated. My work was also valued and contributed to the company as a whole which I loved.

What I wish was different

Nothing - I loved my experience!

Advice

Never be afraid to ask questions! Your fellow employees are the best resources and are more than willing to help you when you reach out.

What I liked

The company is full of helpful, passionate people. Also, they gave me a lot of responsibility and freedom to learn from different parts of the company.

What I wish was different

I am from Connecticut and living in an apartment in Chicago is very expensive. I barely had enough money to make it through the summer. The experience made up for the hard living.

Advice

If you have to relocate to work an internship, look for summer student housing from a local university. At work, talk to your boss about your interests, honestly, and they will guide you towards your goals. Do not be afraid to talk to people from different areas of your company.
