Prairie View A&M University

Research assistant

June - August 2020 • Prairie View, TX

What I liked

This was my first time working in a lab, it was really exciting and I enjoyed working with cancerous cell lines. It was exciting to see the whole process and learn about a new lab procedure

What I wish was different

I do not wish anything should have been different. This was a great opportunity where I got to learn and advance my skills. Even though, some of my cells did die at parts, i was able to investigate and see what was wrong.

Advice

While conducting research it is important to have patient. You need to study and sometimes you can be all day in the lab; especially if it’s something new you are learning. Having patience is extremely important and adjusting to new changes that can occur within your research.

Advice

Research assistant

May 2019 • Prairie View, TX

What I liked

I like the hand on experience it had to offer with a design and research process. It was a great experience and process to have under my belt for what I would like to do after graduating.

What I wish was different

Just for the research process to be at a faster pace.

Advice

Research is a good opportunity to get experience in how designing and it’s process works. If you eventually would like to create your own ideas research would be a good start and insight of that process.
