It was a good introductory internship for someone who has not held a position in a professional office environment in the engineering field. The supervisor was amicable and worked well if I had a scheduling conflict, wanted some time off for a school/extracurricular activity, etc.
What I wish was different
I wish the work was a bit more applicable to the type of work the company was doing. I found myself doing basic intern responsibilities; i.e. populating spreadsheets, looking into new product lines to expand into, and cataloging products. The most I got out of it was some technical writing I did on my own time.
Advice
Ask to be included in more engaging work. Don't sit there expecting to be given responsibilities, actively ask the manager and talk to other employees to find more interesting things to be a part of.
