My internship at Prida, Guida, & Perez, P.A. was an amazing experience. My experience with PGP made me look forward to a career in public accounting. The tight-knit audit department was welcoming, knowledgeable, and interactive throughout my entire internship. PGP provided flexible work options, one-on-one training, and cross training with tax and audit.
Other benefits included:
- Paid parking
- CPA course training for employees
- Firm provided lunches
- Career coaching
- Work life balance approach
- Positive work culture
What I wish was different
Training was more one-on-one and I would have liked to see a catalogue of training documents. They had a training schedule for the work we performed during the summer, but no so much for anything outside of that.
Advice
Go in with an open mind. The firm covers many areas of business ranging from audits of not-for-profit entities to individual tax returns to other assurance services.
Once you find your niche the sky is the limit and you can always change your line of service.
