Working environment and atmosphere among volunteers. Feeling of contribution to the community and society.
What I wish was different
The working time is around 17 hours in the day and it’s exhausting. So I hope it could be 12 hours or less.
Advice
You must sleep well before the day, bring your food and drink and wear suitable clothes.

Head Counselor
May - August 2019 • Woodbridge, VA
What I liked
PWC Parks and Rec consistently host excellent camps for both the students and the counselors. This is a fun, fast paced environment perfects for someone who enjoys working with kids and being on their toes. I was grown in my leadership capabilities and supported by some great supervisors.
What I wish was different
Because of the nature of the camp, most days go without being able to take a break. While it is fun, it can be tiring and it would be nice to be able to take a break away from the campers at times.
Advice
If you want a fun, active summer this is a great job. Be willing to sweat and get creative. It is a great environment to be a part of!

What I wish was different

The management there is very sensitive regarding the safety to the kids to an extent where it is too far and takes all the fun out of everything.
