A partnership between the Department of Defense and USDA has provided the funding for a national, military youth development internship program. Through this initiative, college students have the opportunity to develop professional skills in youth development facilitation through hands-on experience with military children, youth, and families.
Interns travel the nation providing youth development programs for youth of US National Guard and Reserve families impacted by deployments or other military-related absences. Participating interns remain at their individual universities or colleges for the duration of the 1-year internship.
