Advice
While it was one of the best experiences that I, personally have had, it is a lot of work. You never get to put yourself first and it is all about the students. You sacrifice a good chunk of your summer to do it, and you are going to be tired for about a month. But personally, I love kids and I was willing to give my 100% to insure that they were safe and had everything they needed.
There is also a lot of teamwork involved. It is difficult to make it through the month without leaning on fellow counselors for support and backup. So make sure you are able to work efficiently with others.
