Food Service Worker

June - August 2019 • Phoenix, AZ

What I liked

The environment was very fun to work in. I really enjoyed working with my coworkers. This company really cares about their employees. Everyone was nice, and it was a great way to earn money over the summer. They ended up giving me a pretty packed schedule which I loved.

What I wish was different

I wish that the managerial staff had been nicer. The managers would get mad and yell at you if you weren't meeting service time goals regardless of the part you played in the issue. They are more focused on times in the drive thru than customer service which is frustrating.

Advice

Be ready to learn everything. You have to be prepared to be trained in every position in the restraint. If you aren't willing to work in the kitchen or the front I would suggest not applying or making that clear in your interview. They will expect you to learn everything.

Crew Member

June 2018 - July 2019 • Apple Valley, MN

What I liked

The crew members are welcoming and fun. I enjoyed working alongside people around my age. I've learned really good cooking skills because of this job.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have worked there longer. It was really beneficial for me. It helped me with my communication and customer service skills. One thing I wish would have been different is their schedules. I worked pretty long hours and worked while I was in school for a while. That was my personal choice though.

Advice

It isn't always bad to work for a fast food restaurant. This experience helped me develop the basic decency needed to acquire any hard-working labor jobs. It has given me a stepping stone to reach higher goals in life.
