What I liked

I loved the culture and the work I was able to do!

What I wish was different

I wish they were hiring post-graduation, but they are on a freeze due to COVID-19 in Marketing.

Advice

One piece of advice is to do more than you are asked. There is so much you can learn and experience by putting yourself out there!

HR Compensation Intern

May - August 2019 • Washington, DC

What I liked

All of the employees were super helpful and super understanding throughout the entire internship. The interns created a bond with each other and would take small breaks together. It was fun to know we were all actually contributing to the company, no matter the function/department.

What I wish was different

Nothing! I had a great time. All summer I went on an on about how well the position worked out for me. I had an amazing experience. I was blown away; my expectations were exceeded.

Advice

Be prepared to do meaningful work. My projects, along with the other interns’, were used to make higher level decisions through my time there. They trust you to do good work and everyone is very understanding, so all that’s left to do is trust yourself. Everyone’s worth ethic is impeccable and it motivates you to do well.

What I liked

The people and culture was awesome and genuine. I had mentorship but autonomy at the same time so I was able to learn a lot.

What I wish was different

I wish I got to lead a consumer-facing product or feature as opposed to an internal tool

Advice

Connecting well with the people you work with is what matters in the long run.
