What I liked
I liked that I spent the whole summer outside. I learned new skills and how to operate equipment that I always thought would be fun to drive.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had been taken more seriously at the beginning. I had to show them my worth.
Advice
Step outside of your comfort zone! You could find something that you actually love doing.

What I liked
-emphasized personal responsibility and how it contributes to efficient teamwork
-built effective interpersonal skills in interactions between co-workers, bosses and patrons
-useful and practical lifesaving skills
-waterparks!!
What I wish was different
-better and more consistent communication between higher ups and lifeguards
-more equal distribution of work
-more emphasis on enforcing entry level skills so returning guards aren't teaching new content

Your personal feelings about others should never get in the way of you doing your job well, if they are, seek out a mediator

Highway Maintenance Crew Worker

What I liked
The staff was very welcoming and friendly, allowing for a much more enjoyable work experience. I was lucky to be assigned to the Sign Shop where the whole office environment was fantastic.
What I wish was different

Advice
Ask to get what you want. Being vocal to a listening supervisor made the summer more enjoyable for me because the employer will not go out of their way to figure out what works best for you. However, if you are to request certain positions or assignments, the supervisors will most likely accommodate your request.
