What I liked

Realityworks is a very unique work environment that gives you the freedom to be creative and to test new ideas. I felt like I got a broad experience dealing with the research and development side of engineering. They also treat their employees and interns very well. They genuinely care about your experience and value your input. They also host a number of employee appreciation events throughout the year.

What I wish was different

With the understanding of timing and only being there for a four month internship, I would have liked to see a project from start to finish. That being said, I did see different projects at just about every stage of the process.

Advice

There is a ton of information to take in and it is very important to ask questions. Everyone that I worked with was an excellent resource or they would get me to someone who knew. Also, don't be afraid to ask about trying ideas that you have, it's R&D!

What I liked

Great management and engineering team. I worked on a wide variety of projects and was able to ask questions at any time which made it a great learning environment. I always felt like I could approach anyone in the company with a question or for guidance on a project, which really improved my quality of work overall.

What I wish was different

There was a good amount of production work for the engineering interns at the beginning of the summer, but it was understandable considering they were simply short-staffed because of covid and needed some additional assistance in production from the engineering interns. In the end, I actually gained a much better understanding of the product design and manufacturing process as a result of doing some production work.
