What I liked

Since this is a startup software service, I had a lot of flexibility to work on whatever I wanted to learn more about, which was mostly UI design and Infrastructure.

What I wish was different

It would have been nice to have been paid in cash instead of equity shares since the value of the equity is hard to predict.

Advice

The most valuable lessons I learned weren't just about software engineering, but about industry best practices in deploying a software service. To make the most of your experience, I recommend making a personal connection with coworkers and having discussions about their past work experiences, advice, or anything else they want to share.
