I loved working in the collaborative research environment and having the opportunity to independently pursue my interests, and the opportunities and sponsorship provided to share my findings.
What I wish was different
I wish I had had more opportunity to interact with the PI of my lab, and that the equipment would have been working so I could carry out the experiments I desired.
Advice
Read and ask questions to understand the research area enough to formulate your own ideas about what strategies to take to study a phenomenon or engineer a system to exhibit desired behavior.
