I really enjoyed the experience itself. I learned a lot about marketing, specifically email marketing. I learned a lot about the company itself and everyone was always more than willing to answer any questions I had.
What I wish was different
I wish there was a bit more for me to do. There were days when I had tasks that wouldn’t take me my full hours. I was told that it was partly to do with the fact that I was unpaid so people were hesitant to give me more work.
Advice
Be open to trying anything and don’t be afraid to ask questions! I got to work with people across departments and it was super interesting to hear what everyone does and how they contribute to an email campaign! There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes and they don’t expect you to know all of it and generally, everyone would rather me ask those clarifying questions than be confused or not do something correct the first time around.
