I am getting a lot of hands-on experience with writing grants, political advocacy, and also learning about environmental change and relevant ways we can help fight it.
What I wish was different
The work environment. Development specifically is a very self-directed role in the company and I often wish I had a little more direction and task-oriented work from supervisors.
Advice
Apply to jobs even if they aren't perfectly in your field! Getting experience with this nonprofit has been really beneficial even though it doesn't perfectly line up with where I hope to be working in the future.

What I liked
I liked the freedom and being able to pitch ideas, the collaboration between departments to pursue the global goal of the organization.
What I wish was different
Having one of my supervisors there when I'm in the office instead of having to constantly be in touch through emails.
Advice
Be self-motivated. Your supervisors may not give you a lot of tasks but when you ask them, prepare for a lot.
