What I liked

White Rhino did a very good job at making their interns a part of their family for the time being. I personally liked the real office environment and how much us interns were able to get involved with important projects. Another aspect of the internship was the Gama program that connects you live to other interns across the country to discuss what they are learning and the differences between each firm.

What I wish was different

The level of involvement with the company's current projects was great. Personally, I really felt like I absorbed a lot of useful information from sitting in prospect client meetings by just listening to the solutions a senior planner had to say. If I could change one thing it would be making room in our schedule to sit in on weekly prospect client meetings.

Advice

White Rhino Financial in Houston has a lot of seasoned veterans, compared to other financial advisory companies, which an intern can learn from. By getting to know them and asking them a lot of questions, you would get a lot more out of this internship.
