The Rockport Cultural District (RCD) is one of 355-member network of Local Cultural Councils in the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC). In 2012 the Town of Rockport’s downtown area was designated as a Statewide ‘Cultural District’ by the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism (MOTT). The goal of the RCD is to attract more visitors to the Town of Rockport.
Under the MCC, the RCD also awards grants to schools, organizations, and individuals in their communities based on that community’s cultural needs.
