About Rocky Mountain Youth Corps

Rocky Mountain Youth Corps engages youth in the outdoors, inspiring them to use their strengths and potential to lead healthy, productive lives. Every summer and fall we offer positions for young adults (ages 18-25) to work on meaningful conservation projects throughout northwest Colorado. Projects may include trail building and maintenance, primitive road construction (for Off Highway Vehicles, etc.), building and maintaining irrigation ditches, fence work, noxious weed eradication, fire fuels reduction (chainsaw work) and habitat restoration. Crews of 9-10 people, led by a Crew Leader and Assistant Leader will stay together for the duration of the 10 week session- camping and working in a variety of changing weather conditions. Spending a summer with RMYC is a life changing and rewarding experience. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong personal work ethic, a commitment to service, diversity, self-development, and team work.

“I was able to explore Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming at this position. I saw so many stunning places and I made amazing friends. RMYC will certainly challenge you, but it will also force you to grow in ways you didn't even realize you needed to.”
