Rolls-Royce

Procurment Supply Chain Intern

May - August 2022 • Indianapolis, IN

What I liked

I really liked the company culture. The culture at Rolls was very good and inclusive. I never once felt like I was not included and/or out of place. I felt as if everyone at the company was working towards a common goal: to further the company and become a better version of themselves.

What I wish was different

I wish that there was more of an emphasis on coming into the office. At Rolls, it is still optional to come into the office for work. For me, being a hands-on learner that was a bit frustrating. I needed to go into the office every day and some days there was almost no one there. So, I wish there was more of an emphasis on coming into the office.

Advice

Be prepared and don't be afraid to ask questions. There were a lot of things that needed to be answered. The managers and coworkers and other interns are all very helpful and will help you achieve your greatest potential.

Engineering Intern

May - August 2018 • Stennis Space Center, MS

What I liked

I was exposed to a real world, high pressure, engineering environment that appeared very challenging and rewarding. I was able to learn a lot of technical skills to apply in future jobs and that greatly increased the strength of my resume.

What I wish was different

The daily job responsibilities were fun and fair, the living location within affordable means was the only negative experience during this time.

Advice

Material Requirements Planning Controller Intern

What I wish was different

I wish I had been more driven and learned more about the business I was a part of.

Advice

Take chances when sending your Resume out because even if you think you aren't qualified or don't like a field, you might be surprised by what you find.

Quality Engineering Intern

June - August 2018 • Indianapolis, IN

What I liked

Great hands-on experience within the manufacturing floor at Rolls-Royce. Had an opportunity to work on projects that had an immediate impact on the company by saving time and money.

What I wish was different

I would have liked a chance to work more closely with the manufacturing engineering group.

Advice

Do not be afraid to accept a job that is outside of what you want for a future career. I was not interested in quality engineering at first but it has given me great experience that will help me out as I start my career in manufacturing engineering.
