I loved working at a small company and making impact across teams. I got to do work full time engineers were doing and built parts that would go into autonomous trucks.
They gave me a lot of space to be critical of the higher-level decision making and automate my work. I felt like they respected me despite my limited experience in the world.
They also had amazing food events and the work atmosphere was phenomenal. Everyone was a friend!
What I wish was different
I wish I didn't deal with IT issues for my first week. I also automated much of my work and wish the new hires would pay attention more to the tools I was taking advantage of.
Advice
Be bold and take risks. I automated my workflow due to a VP who pushed me to think outside the box and not just do what my supervisors told me to do.
