The Salt Lake Bees are a minor league baseball team based in Salt Lake City, Utah and are the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, a MLB (Major League Baseball) team.
The current franchise got its start in 1994 when Joe Buzas, a former major league player and owner of the PCL Portland Beavers, moved the team to Salt Lake City. The team, then known as the Salt Lake Buzz from 1994 to 2000, changed its name to the Salt Lake Stingers in 2001. The team was later purchased by Larry H. and Gail Miller in March of 2005. On October 27, 2005, the team announced that it would again be known by its original PCL franchise name, the Salt Lake Bees. The franchise owns a 22-30 playoff record and a 4-11 playoff series record. Overall, Salt Lake teams have a 3840-3707 record in the Pacific Coast League. Only Portland (15,555) and Sacramento (10,421) have seen their city's PCL teams play more games than the 7,547 games that Salt Lake City's teams have played.
