Scot Forge Company

IT Intern

June 2021 • Spring Grove, IL

What I liked

This is the type of company who looks for hard working and caring people. I loved what I was doing and so working long hours never felt very long.

What I wish was different

A more dedicated data science team or resources ready. Currently, they are dipping their toes into the data science field which is exciting but makes it harder to get the ball rolling.

Advice

Show that you care no matter where you are, at this company or another, and I am sure you will be rewarded.

What I liked

The friendly environment. Most people have very close friendships. Everyone has some longevity in the company. The company is employee-owned.

What I wish was different

More time to finish one of my projects. I started a bigger project later in the internship and wasn't able to finish by my end date.

Advice

Don't be afraid to talk to the people that work there. Everyone is super friendly and nice.

Advice

Getting good grades is great, but having actual work related experience will get you a job. Become more involved in clubs and activities and got used to working with a wide variety of people, not only culturally and people from different educational levels. You will be surprised how much they know.
