Select Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy Intern

May - July 2019 • Dexter, MO

What I liked

I enjoyed learning from both the physicians and the patients about what Physical Therapy means as a profession. They were able to give insight into the career beyond what a website or information packet can give.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had been paid for this internship. It is rare for a PT internship to be paid, and I wish that this would be changed.

Advice

Be willing to ask questions and curious, if there is anything you don't understand, speak up. All the professionals I worked with enjoyed sharing their knowledge with me, but it was typical for me to pursue the information. It's an amazing experience and I encourage that future students make the most of it.

Physical Therapist Volunteer

May - August 2019 • Anaheim, CA

What I liked

I loved being able to work with patients and helping them with their injuries. I also loved gaining so much knowledge about different exercises that help certain muscles become stronger to help with certain injuries.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have volunteered for more time but I need to branch out and volunteer at different clinics or hospitals.

Advice

One piece of advice would be to ask questions because that is how you gain knowledge.
