Advice

House Painter

May 2016 • Long Beach, CA

What I liked

It is a job in which one never gets bored. Every work cite has new challenges and difficulties. I am able to work at my own pace (usually) and make my own negotiations.

What I wish was different

This job contains many variables; salary depends on negotiations, task required, availability etc. Therefore, it is largely seasonal for there are times when there is much work and times when there is less.

Advice

One must be persistent. The job is tedious and filled with uncertainty, however, innovation and determination will provide a payoff in the future.

Nanny

What I liked

I got to do a lot of activities that not only my kids likes, but that I enjoyed too! The kids were old enough to really carry conversations and we could learn from eachother.

Nannying can certainly be hard work, but if you have open and honest communication with the family about what you want to do, what you need, and how the kids are, you'll be sure to have an amazing time filled with growth, adventures, and memories to last a lifetime.
