Showtime Networks

Audit, Compliance and Operations

June - August 2018 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I loved the team that I worked for and the summer internship project. I had the ability of combining my analytical skills and creative marketing skills for an overall amazing experience.

What I wish was different

I wish that there was opportunity to extend the internship into another semester. I loved working at Showtime so much!

Advice

I would advise that anyone who interns in an industry they love to make their own business cards, aways carry a notebook with you everywhere, and try to meet as many people as possible while you work there!

Publicity Intern

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

Showtime gave me the opportunity to learn and grow within the public relations field. I was given free reign on certain projects, such as cultivating news stories, creating media lists, etc. Showtime also has an Intern Group Project, in which all interns work in groups of 5 to solve a large company issue, and then present in front of the entire company. My group was tasked with retaining subscribers after graduation from the Showtime/Spotify/Hulu student bundle, and it was an incredibly rewarding experience.

What I wish was different

Honestly, none. I feel like I got everything out of this internship and it was structured perfectly. Only thing I may wish I had done differently was meet with more people in the company.

Advice

Meet and network with as many people as possible. Everyone I talked to at Showtime loved having a conversation with an Intern, and that made the work environment much more comfortable, knowing how approachable everyone is. Take advantage of it and grow your personal network!

Consumer Intelligence Research Intern

June 2018 • New York City, NY

What I liked

The Summer program is well developed and there is plenty of opportunities to meet with and learn from full time employees from a wide range of departments. There is an intern group project that you work on throughout the program and get to present to the company at the end, many executives and higher ups attend. We even got to go to a taping of the Stephen Colbert Show. Showtime hires their research interns for the full year while everyone else just stays for the summer. As one of the research interns, I feel like I play an important role on my team and my manager and supervisor are understanding of when I have to miss work due to school breaks, exams, and illness.

Advice

It is easy to make a good impression if you do your Job and have a good attitude, people at showtime really want the interns to succeed, but there was one intern in another department who's supervisor made a formal complaint with HR about how much he didn't do his job, so don't be that person.

Digital Marketing Intern

June - August 2016 • New York City, NY

What I liked

The internship program at Showtime was great because they really make it a priority for you to learn as much as you can. They hold weekly networking breakfasts with people from various departments, they had a Speaker Series where heads of different divisions would explain their roles in the company, and we all got to work on group projects that were presented to the executives at the end of the summer.

What I wish was different

Advice

Ask as many questions as you can, and keep in touch with all the people you meet.

Program Planning and Scheduling Intern

June - August 2018 • New York City, NY

What I liked

The program had an educational emphasis, but also included fun recreational activities.

What I wish was different

I wish it had been longer. It almost wasn’t enough time to absorb the information and meet everyone I would have liked to.

Advice

Network as much as possible when you have your foot in the door at a company you like.
