I learned a lot about private wealth management and 401(k) solutions for plan sponsors and plan participants. I got to work directly with people concerned about their 401(k) plans. Although I wasn't able to give advice, I was there listening to the conversations.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have had more opportunities to analyze and make decisions on different holding reports.
Advice
Take any internship in the field you are interested in. I think it gives you good scope, no matter what the job.
