Springer Capital

Investor Outreach Intern

November 2022 • Ann Arbor, MI

What I liked

I liked the amount of exposure we got all the different aspects of a private equity firm. The training materials relating to how to use the CRM program and training calls are very helpful for my development as a professional.

What I wish was different

I was hoping that there could be an unperson component over the summer to potentially get more involved in the work.

Advice

I think the most important thing to remember working in a small company is that you must learn to independently figure out some issues. While your managers are very helpful in answering questions they do not have the time to go through all the minute details of how to setup your accounts and all the technical difficulties, so you have to try your best to figure out certain issues yourself.

What I liked

I loved everything about this internship. I love that it was remote, and I enjoyed doing the quizzes too. All I had to do was complete the quizzes and training with a satisfactory score and they gave me the internship. There was no interview process which is also something about it that I enjoyed. The internship itself was quite fun too. This internship is also done mostly through email and Microsoft teams which is something I also like and enjoyed about it.During this internship, Springer also lets you select any work schedule that you want which is great. I definitely recommend internships with this company.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have interacted with other interns and spoken to them.

Advice

1.Make sure you read all of the things sent out such as trainings and quizzes they give you thoroughly. Also, keep track of all of the documents they send you. 2. Before this internship, I thought all finance internships involved more numbers than this finance internship involved and had the word finance in the title. Surprisingly this internship involved pretty much no numbers and no equations that had to be done during it.It only involved data entry in an excel sheet.
