Stepping Stones was founded in 1963 as Greater Cincinnati's first summer camp program for youth with disabilities. Today, the impact and United Way partner agency offers a variety of educational and recreation programs throughout the year that support children, teens and adults on the pathway to independence!
Our programs support participants in more fully participating in their communities and reaching their full potential. At Stepping Stones, we also pride ourselves on celebrating everyone's abilities! All program activities are adaptable to suit each participant's personal talents.
People with disabilities of all ages and their families come to Stepping Stones year-round for:
Exposure to New Experiences
Fun with Friends
Learning New Skills
Respite in a Caring Community
Stepping Stones is an equal opportunity employer with more than 100 year-round employees and 225 seasonal staff. All staff are required to pass criminal background checks.
We also have a comprehensive training program to equip staff with all the information and tools they will need to perform their role well. Because of this extensive training program, experience working with people with disabilities is not a requirement of employment. Most of Stepping Stones’ employees are college graduates or college students who are pursuing a career in a related field.
