Steve LeVine Entertainment & Public Relations

Event Coordinator Intern

January - April 2023 • Scottsdale, AZ

What I liked

I enjoyed interning at Steve LeVine Entertainment. I was able to help put on so many different events and gain hands-on experience. The Ostrich Festival in Chandler has always been my favorite event to attend in Arizona. I found out SLE produces the festival, and I was so excited to be apart of that. I was able to see it all come together from the planning and behind-the-scenes of it. This was my first internship and very memorable experience!

What I wish was different

Overall it was a great experience. One thing I wish that was different is all the interns were able to shadow and learn a little bit more about each SLE department. We all applied for the intern position we wanted but the Event, Talent and Booking, Marketing and Public Relations department all tie in together. I think it would be beneficial to gain a little bit of knowledge and experience from each department.

Advice

I am majoring in journalism and mass communication with an emphasis on public relations and a minor in special events management. This internship gave me the experience I needed. If you want to get your foot in the door with events this is the place to do it. You will have a good time and learn to work with a team. You won't be bored because there is always something for you to do or help with.

Marketing Intern

August 2017 • Scottsdale, AZ

What I liked

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of SLE. All the workers are fun which lightens up the office when it gets tense during peak season. I have been able to get my hands on many different projects which is good experience for the future.

What I wish was different

They hire a lot of interns and at times it seems that their business model is to use interns to work events so they do not have to pay staff.

Advice

If you are interested in working in events, this is the place for you and you will gain lots of hands-on experience. Be mindful when applying that there is no pay and that there is pressure to work events on the weekend.
