What I liked

I loved the work environment, the community and client base, and most of all my supervisor, Natalie. I always enjoyed coming into my internship. The work we did never really felt like work, even the little tedious tasks. The best part of the job was getting to know and care for the dogs and cats in the shelter and seeing them grow throughout my experience. It was amazing to see a dog that came into the shelter struggling to become healthy, gain confidence, and find a loving foster or forever home. This internship helped me develop a better idea of what I want to do post-graduation and gave me a fun, eye-opening experience that I am grateful to have had.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more time in my schedule during my internship so I could have spent more time at the shelter and contributed more to the organization.

Advice

Never be afraid to ask questions because everyone at Stray Rescue is happy and willing to answer, no matter how big, small, or silly the question may be. Asking questions helps you get the most out of the experience and will let you learn the materials and how things operate.

What I liked

My supervisor was the kindest supervisor I could ask for. She was very patient and willing to teach. Everyone at Stray Rescue was kind and willing to help with anything I needed as I learned more about marketing in a non-profit. You are treated as a valued member of the company. I learned how to work on campaigns, produce content for the website such as listing events and rescue stories, and how to help raise funds for the non-profit. This is a great internship for anyone who wants to learn more about marketing within a non-profit. I am proud to have interned at a location that valued my work. I know I helped make a difference in many animal's lives.

Advice

You must love animals for this internship. Everything you do is to help find homes for dogs and cats. You will spend time with the animals to help make social media posts and other content to help the amazing animals find their forever homes.
