Charles and Anna Taft established the Taft Museum of Art in 1932 when they bequeathed their home and collection of art to the people of Cincinnati. The Taft is known as one of the finest small art museums in America. The Baum-Longworth-Sinton-Taft House is a National Historic Landmark built c. 1820 and is home to an extensive art collection that includes European and American master paintings; Chinese porcelains; and European decorative arts. MISSION The Taft Museum of Art welcomes people of every background to experience a world-renowned collection in a beautiful historic house. Through its intimate presentation of Anna and Charles Taft's treasures and its engaging exhibitions, programs, and activities, the Museum creates enjoyment and learning opportunities for all.
