What I liked

I liked how social of a work environment it was! Not only did I get to interact with my coworkers throughout the day, but I got to interact with every single customer that walked through the doors and I just loved that part of it. It was very task-oriented, so I was always busy or had something to do which I found out was also really nice for me at work. It was nice to be able to have a little down time and relax, but it was super nice to be busy and going all the time. It made the time go by much faster.

What I wish was different

One thing I wished that had been different is just the tipping system. At the front of the store, I was the only person interacting with the customers, but I had to split my tips with everyone in the back of house as well. As the consistently highest tipped employee, sometimes it was frustrating that I had to give a lot of my tips away.

Advice

One piece of advice I would give to people is to find the fun in work and remember to laugh and smile. Work can become monotonous, especially when you are working 40 hours a week in a small restaurant. When I remembered to try and find joy in the little things and especially the relationships with my coworkers, I was much happier.

What I liked

I liked my co-workers and my managers. My managers were very patient with me, being that it was my first time doing the job. I also enjoyed the free meals during the shifts. Overall, it was a good experience with a relaxed environment.
