Since there were only three employees working in the store, I got the opportunity to assume a lot of responsibility, which taught me a lot about the retail industry. I also loved being able to interact with people on a daily basis and strengthen my conflict management skills
What I wish was different
I wish that I was able to do more; since it was my first time in retail I did have to spend a lot of time re-stocking the shelves with clothes and count inventory. I didn't mind completing those jobs, but I wished it was more fast-paced at times.
Advice
Be open to new experiences! I've never pictured myself working in retail, and I might not end up working in retail in the future, but I learned a lot about myself, other people, and the business world from working there. I made network connections that will last forever and had a great time trying something different!
