- I wish I had stuck with a project from the start (I eventually did do my own research halfway through the internship) rather than hopping from a project to another
Advice
It really is what you make it! As long as you're involved and actively asking for tasks to do, people will always be willing to utilize your help. It is also helpful to let the people there know about you're interested in so you end up working on your areas of interest.
