I had an opportunity to talk with many different types of people, learning how to interact and present ideas appropriately.

I wish that there would have been more opportunity to actually share what we had to give.
Advice
My advice for this experience would be to enjoy the time volunteering. It can be tedious and frustrating, but it is really a great opportunity to grow and experience different perspectives.

What I liked
I loved spending time serving others and learning more about God, France, and myself! In addition, I met dozens of people I love (many of whom I'm still in contact with).
What I wish was different
Actually, not much. My mission had some hard parts, but they helped me grow. I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
Advice
Read the Book of Mormon! That's always a good idea.

I loved the relationships that I was able to make. I learned how to really study and now, I'm able to apply it to school.

I wish I had prepared myself better. I feel like I could have made a greater impact if I had the right mindset from day 1.
Advice
Start waking up at 6:30am before you report to the MTC. Get a Fitbit and make sure you move enough, everyday while you're out and study Preach My Gospel before you leave as well.

It offered me all sorts of different experiences in professional communications and showed me why we do certain things in my field.
What I wish was different
I wish that I could have attended more congressional hearings, and that I would have done less copy/menial work.
Advice
Even though it sucks and you might not like doing it, be sure to do whatever they ask you to. If they need copies, make them. If they need you to go across town to attend an event and represent the Church there, buck up and do it.

I wish I had been able to do a little more data analysis in addition to learning SQL.
Advice
This internship includes extensive training in T-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and the Star Schema. Those interested in a career that includes these skills will find great value in this internship experience.

I wish that the training was more formalized. A lot of what I did was on the fly, things that I just came up with to learn.
Advice
Be a self starter - they aren't looking for someone to teach every second, they want you to own projects and make the most of your circumstances.

What I wish was different
I was called to serve in the temple and I worked as voluntary in the open house until the dedication of the Port-auPrince Haiti Temple during the Summer. It was a wonderful experience to me because I serve in the house of God.
Advice
In the day of the dedication I met someone in the temple, he observed me while I am smiling to the people and he came to me and asked my name and he said: you have a good smiling use it to bless other people. The words he said to me have amazed me, it was a good experience. He come from United State of America and he called Wilson.

What I liked
I enjoyed the atmosphere of the workplace. Everyone was very kind, and as members of the church, there was no smoking, drinking, or foul language at the workplace. There were also weekly devotionals which were great to have!
What I wish was different
I wish there were more employees hired, since many of us worked overtime. But aside from that, the job was as expected!
Advice
Choose a job environment that you feel comfortable working in. If you plan for this, then you’ll enjoy the job atmosphere a lot more and be more likely / willing to stay!
