This internship is unpaid. Therefore, you have to measure the value of your time with the value of the work experience. I found little to no value in this work experience.
Interns job experience is basically the job of an additional event volunteer. Rather than learning any fundamental skills during events, we simply filled in for volunteers: handed out wristbands, directed car parking, etc. Also, a lot of the event planning was simply doing odd-jobs for the office: going to Walmart to buy trash bags, cleaning white boards, moving event supplies (tents, sandbags, posterboards) . I did not find any value in my work experience at the sports corp.
The office environment was not pleasant.
Advice
Only take this job if you are 100000000000% positive you want to be in sports event management. This is a fabulous stepping stone if you know this is the career for you. Otherwise, it's not worth it.
