I had the opportunity to interact with kids as well as teach them the basics of reading and writing. I was surrounded by a positive, uplifting atmosphere. A great learning experience for an extracurricular summer program.
What I wish was different
I wish the time with teaching the kids would've been longer. I connected with the kids on a higher level of education. It felt nice giving students the skills they need to move forward for the school year.
Advice
This experience was worth it. I was able to come out of my comfort zone, meet new people, and start an internship for the experience. I met great people and created great memories.
