What I liked

I loved my bosses and my work community. I loved the fact that there truly was a community, and that we had a healthy relationship during the workdays and on the weekends. Working for a summer camp means that your time is limited in the capacity in which you are employed, so making the most of it is vital. The Mentoring Alliance invests not only in you as an employee, but also in you as a friend, mentor, counselor, missionary, student, and leader.

What I wish was different

I wish I had known more about TMA before starting and would have been able to work the full summer with them. They were not a camp I was familiar with and I would have enjoyed spending more time in my job with them.

Advice

You will only take away as much as you invest. If you are not willing to invest in the community around you, then you will not be invested in how you might want. People will only know how deeply you want to be a part of camp culture if you exhibit a desire to be in camp culture.
