What I liked

I loved working with kids all summer and being surrounded by wonderful staff members and good community all summer!

What I wish was different

The job involved long and physically taxing day, so I wish we had more off time on the weekends.

Advice

Stay hydrated and take care of yourself! Working outside with kids everyday is hard work but definitely pays off!

Scheduling mistakes meant a few missed opportunities.

Long travel time to and from, be ready for language barriers.

What I liked

I loved meeting new people and being in community in the mountains. I also loved the volunteer job that I worked as part of the program --my coworkers were awesome and my supervisors and managers were too!

What I wish was different

I wish I could have stayed there longer! :)

Advice

Don't go into the opportunity with a big list of expectations. Just take it day by day and soak up as much of the experience as possible!

What I liked

It was a great experience to be up in the mountains, with a great community of people, sharing the gospel with kids day in and day out as hey came to camp for a week. It was tons of fun just hanging out, doing activities, and playing games with the kids as a job.

What I wish was different

Nothing, completely recommend the experience. Not paid much but it isn’t about the money.

Advice

Don’t hesitate to do it, it will change your perspective and give you leadership skills that useful in all areas of your life.

It's not the highest paying job in the form of dollars, but the experience and joy gained from being at a place like this for the summer cannot be topped by wages.
