About The Port of Virginia
The cargo carried by ships, trucks, and trains hold the lifeblood of our economy. Our nation’s ports, including The Port of Virginia, are at the center of it all. The fifth largest port in America, The Port of Virginia is a catalyst for commerce. A recent economic impact study found that over 374,000 jobs in Virginia – nearly 10% of Virginia’s workforce - have ties to the port. Additionally, more than $60 billion is spent on port-related goods and services each year. The Port of Virginia operates five marine terminals, has a sixth under development, and operates an intermodal container transfer facility in Front Royal, Virginia. Reviews

Marketing Intern

June 2021 - July 2021 Norfolk, VA
“I loved the community and the way the interns were included in the daily operations of the port, and involved in not only our specific assigned intern projects, but also projects that were regular responsibilities of the full-time port members. I worked with the other interns in my cohort, my intern leaders, and various departments, in addition to marketing. I had multiple opportunities for networking, professional development, exploring Norfolk, and celebrating other port members. This experience, I felt was a very authentic view of what it looks like to work with the port as a full-time port member, and I was treated very well!”
