As I had previously been a co-op at a General Contactor it was great to see the consulting side of the construction industry. My position had a great balance of in-office CAD work and site-based inspection and progress reports.
What I wish was different
Sigma did not have a very established internship program.
Advice
It is beneficial to gain experience at different companies within your industry of interest. I was glad to be able to test the waters of consulting and come to the realization that while I enjoyed my experience, that working for a General Contractor was my goal post-grad.
