The overall experience was an amazing learning opportunity in every aspect of the business world. On top of my duties as a tax intern, I was exposed to several other offices within the UT System to observe how every office interacts with each other.

Form a good working relationship with your supervisor because it is so helpful for getting advice and rearranging projects around when needed. I had a great experience thanks to this!!

What I liked
The position allowed me to explore and understand more about research and how it starts, from brainstorming to initial studies to trainings and more.
What I wish was different
There was a lack of follow-up on a lot of projects and the research supervisors were often gone or not responsive.
Advice
Be on top of everything, reach out if you don't understand or know what to do, and have a flexible schedule.
