Frisco is a mountain town located at an altitude of 9,075 ft in the Colorado Rockies. The town is surrounded on 3 sides by public land and on 1 side by Dillon Reservoir. There are 6 ski resorts within 30 minutes of Frisco including Copper Mountain (7 minutes), Breckenridge Ski Resort (15 minutes) and Vail (30 minutes). Frisco has a population of approximately 3,500 residents, but welcomes thousands of visitors per day during the summer and winter peak times. The Town operates with a Mayor/Council/Town Manager system. The Town of Frisco handles normal municipal government functions such as street and park maintenance/development, water, tax collection, community planning, policing and general administration. But because of the reliance on tourism and the community's passion for recreation, the Town also has many recreational assets including a full service marina, a bike park, a skate park, a disc golf course, paved recreational paths, soft surface hiking/mt biking/running trails, a snow tubing hill, a Nordic center and a ski and ride hill. The Town takes an active role in marketing these attractions by funding advertising/PR efforts, events and an information center.
