Supervisor
May - August 2019 • Ardsley, NY
What I liked
The job introduces many skills under the umbrella of management to those in the position at an early age after a few years of experience working at the facility. These skills, such as dealing with the public and managing staff and equipment, are great to learn and build upon early on in ones life.

Coding Instructor
June - August 2019 • Greenburgh, NY
What I liked
The job was a great way for me to step outside of my comfort zone. I had to come up with lesson plans on my own for 6 weeks of instruction for about 10 different classes of students sorted by age. While coding and computer programming are not part of the field that I hope to go into, I did admire the aspect of the job where I encouraged students to pursue a job in STEM. There were several students who did not fail to let me know that my class was always their favorite and they plan to work on their coding skills outside of the classroom. The camp directors do a great job at letting your creativity flow.
What I wish was different
There were times when I felt as though there were too many children at once. The group sizes could go up to 20 students. Smaller classes made it easier to get the students to listen.
Advice
Plan early and plan for anything you may have miscalculated during your planning.

Camp Counselor
July - August 2019 • Greenburgh, NY
What I liked
I liked the excitement of working with children. Everyday was a completely different experience based on how the campers were behaving and what they wanted to do.
What I wish was different
I believe that I could have managed the group a little better. I believe that better management would have made my job a bit easier.
Advice
Working with children can be a fun job, but it can also be stressful if you do not know how to properly manage them.
