Public Relations Intern

June - September 2020 • Randolph, NJ

What I liked

I liked gaining relevant public relations experience while contributing to a company that advocates for youth activism.

What I wish was different

I wished this internship could have been in person to get the full experience and collaborate with my team members in person.

Advice

A piece of advice I would offer from this experience is to invest in yourself. Even if internships are online, your professional skills can still be developed. You can find great opportunities by utilizing the career centers resources.

Graphic Design Intern

June - August 2020 • Los Angeles, CA

What I liked

I really liked the collaborative nature of the work where we worked in small groups and gave feedback to each other. It was a very productive interview where we pumped out projects so it was great for a portfolio.

What I wish was different

I liked the fresh new aspect of the company but a well established company might have been able to teach me a few tried and true skills instead of everything being experimental. Still, I enjoyed the adventurous and young spirit where we were allowed to give input even though we weren’t experts.

Advice

Be mindful of how many projects you take on because they can quickly add up and bog you down. That said, take on anything that interests you even if you’re not super experienced because it can be a learning experience.
