Ubisoft

Learning & Development Intern

February - May 2022 • San Francisco, CA

What I liked

I am currently an MBA student at UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, and I have absolutely loved my time at Ubisoft as an intern. I have been given the flexibility and autonomy to drive an international initiative, and the work is always interesting and important! Even more critically, the team here at Ubisoft is one of a kind. Working within the San Francisco HR team, I have met the most fantastic people, all of whom are kind, caring, and invested in your personal growth & development. Team members are very collaborative and will go out of their way to help you, and everyone in the office is open to chats/getting to know you. It has also been an amazing opportunity to work internationally, and I have gotten the chance to meet many people at Ubisoft offices across the globe. The team is also innovative, iterative, and constantly challenging the status quo. I am very thankful for the strong internship program at Ubisoft, and happy to chat anytime about the wonderful HR folks, company culture, or other items of interest!

What I wish was different

Nothing of note - I have had a fantastic experience and if there are every issues, the team is fast to resolve them before they become a problem.

Advice

Working at Ubisoft has been a great way to dive into the gaming industry, and to work internationally! I recommend coming here if either of those items interest you. If you are interested in HR, I have found Ubisoft to be a collaborative environment that provides ample experience, exposure, and resources!

Global Brand Project Management Intern

May 2021 • San Francisco, CA

What I liked

Ubisoft has one of the best company cultures that I have ever experienced. Colleagues and Supervisors are friendly and truly want to see you grow as a professional. I would say people at Ubisoft fit the Marvel and Disney fan base culture and can make anyone feel comfortable and included. When working I never felt intimated to ask questions and set up calls with my Supervisors to ask follow up questions or learn about operational practices. As I grew in my internship so did my responsibilities. I always felt like I was challenged but never confused.

What I wish was different

I just wish I could have gone to the office more.

Advice

I would say network within the company. Set up as many informational interviews with different departments with as many different Ubisoft employees as you can. Everyone comes from unique backgrounds and have fantastic life/professional lessons and stories to share.

Creative Project Management Coordinator

August 2020 • San Francisco, CA

What I liked

Working as a Creative Project Management Coordinator Intern for the Creative Services Department at Ubisoft has been one of the most fulfilling and fascinating experiences I have ever had in my career. It has given me the opportunity to apply my knowledge on project management and agile management to the actual projects I have been working on. It is a very friendly, fun, dynamic and fast-paced environment where you get to learn about the latest developments in the video gaming sector, creative design processes, graphic production and marketing. Ubisoft offers a very collaborative space where interns are encouraged to proactively take responsibilities, manage projects and learn something new every step of the way. What I especially love about working at Ubisoft is that, as an intern, you always feel like you are part of their team, the senior members of the organization are always ready to support you and answer your questions and managers are great mentors. It is a very safe space to take initiatives, manage projects by yourself, ask questions and grow more! I think that working at Ubisoft, one of the biggest video gaming companies in the world, not only opens up many doors in your career but it also makes you understand what it means to work at a truly global and diverse company.

What I wish was different

I started working at Ubisoft after the lock down so I met everyone virtually and have never had the chance to be physically present at the San Francisco office. I wish I had the chance to see the creative studio and work with everyone in-person.

Advice

Be ready to work at a very fast-paced, dynamic and diverse environment.
