What I liked
I really enjoy getting to Shadow or observe the therapists as they went on their rounds in the hospital. Interacting with patients was very eye-opening.
What I wish was different
Not much but mainly just more time spent on observing
Advice
Be ready to walk everywhere in the hospital and have lots of questions because the therapists will answer everything and are extremely pleasant to be around.

What I liked
I definitely got a look into the everyday workings of an intense post operative unit.
What I wish was different
Perhaps more shadowing. I acted as a glorified janitor, and mostly just cleaned up after nurses and restocked the supply room. I wish I would have been able to shadow a surgeon. I had to take my own initiative to make time to allow me to follow around the cardiologists during their brief rounds in our unit. I only got maybe 30 minutes of real shadowing. Was quite disappointing in that regard.
Advice
Take your own initiative when on any hospital floor. Keep approaching nurses for something to do, and don’t wait for something to happen. Whenever you see and MD, follow them and bug them, but in a productive and polite manor. Show interest!
