I learned a lot about the research topic, as well as a variety of skills needed for researchers. I also got to experience something completely different from my previous jobs and internships.

Advice
Research isn't for everyone, but it can be incredibly rewarding. I would encourage everyone to spend a semester working with a research team at this campus or as part of an REU program not only to learn but to experience what it's like to participate in creating new knowledge.
